Treat Yo’ Self, January Makeup Edition

Happy Sunday!

It’s been a hot minute since my last Treat Yo’ Self due to Christmas and whatnot so I thought today would be the perfect time to show you a couple of bits and bobs I’ve treated myself to this month. This time around, it’s entirely makeup because I’m doing an extra Treat Yo’ Self post this month, which means you’re getting a makeup edition and a clothes addition. The sales have gone to my head. Plus this month, I’ve rekindled my makeup obsession. I’ve also started an eyeshadow singles palette this month so if you would like to see an entire post on that once it’s full, I would be happy to oblige.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pan – I’ve purchased the standard Makeup Geek pans in; Pixie Dust, Cosmopolitan, Burlesque, Rebel and Neptune. They’re all really lovely, highly pigmented and buttery shadows and I’m a changed woman, I’m here for single pans thanks to Makeup Geek and Coloured Raine, which definitely doesn’t get enough credit because their singles are INCRED.

Makeup Geek Duochrome Eyeshadow Pan – I can’t rave enough about the duochrome pans, I am living for them. Honestly they’re amazing! If you don’t know, they reflect two colours depending on the light and angle that you view them from. They have really upped my eyeshadow game, I’ve gotten so many lovely comments on them. A nice lady in the post office and a sweet Wagamama waitress have been fans in the last week. Honestly I’m so excited about these, I need more already. I purchased two in shades Blacklight and Mai Tai.

Morphe E13 Oval Shadow Fluff Brush – I’m forever on the hunt for nice fluffy eyeshadow brushes and this one caught my eye on Beauty Bay. I’ve been using it for about a week and its lovely, a great texture for blending and yet not too fluffy to apply nice pigment.

Morphe M431 Precision Pencil Crease Brush – I’ve been after a pencil brush to do my bottom lash line and inner corner for a while so I picked this one up and it’s done a great job so far. Loving it!

Sugarpill Liquid Lipsticks in Kim Chi and Trinket – These are very exciting for me as they are the very first items I’ve bought from Sugarpill despite admiring the brand for so long. These two colours are so lovely, like stunning. Kim Chi is a lilac with a blue glitter reflect and Trinket is a mauve/pink with a gold glitter, amazing! My only complaints with these colours are that the formula is quite drying, I know they’re matte but they’re drier than other matte lipsticks I’ve tried. I think this is due to the glitter in them so I’d maybe suggest applying a vaseline to your lips while you do the rest of your face then applying these lipsticks last. If your lips are dry and chapped, the glitter will only highlight this.

Models Own Makeup Fixing Spray – I was running out of fixing spray and happened to be drawn in by a lovely gal at Models Own once again. Plus they were having a sale so I picked this up for a fiver. I like this fixing spray, it does the job however it smells super weird when you first spray it. Like it definitely doesn’t smell good for the skin. Other than the split second of weird smell, I have no complaints about this product.

Models Own All About Eyes Gift Set – Yes, I purchased a gift set for myself, it was in the sale okay. I picked these eyeliners up for £7.99 instead of £20 which I think is a fab bargain. I’ve been looking for some coloured liners so I can stop dying my contact lenses with liquid lipstick on the daily. These are actually really nice, they’re creamy and can be smudged out and used for shadow too if you’re quick. I’ve been really enjoying them so far.

NYX Full Throttle Shadow Palette in Colour Riot – I already have one of these in Daring Damsel which I loved so I picked up a second. I love the colours in these quads, they’re so good for a quick eye look and they’re great for travelling because you literally only need one. You have a highlight, a crease colour, and two lid colours, so simple. I think they’d be great for those that want to step out of their colour comfort zone too because they literally a colourful look without being too complex.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in No Tea, No Shade – This is so good god damn exciting! I finally have my hands on a metallic liquid lip thanks to Jeffree Star. This colour is honestly my go to at the minute. I’m head over heels for it. It’s literally so good that a couple of my friends ended up wearing it when we were on a night out. It’s truly amazing!

Thank you for reading, Katie x
